Best Experiences To Enjoy On A Budget Trip To Thailand
1. Dinner Cruise On Chao Phraya Princess Cruise
We arrived in Bangkok, and rested for a while after checking-in at the hotel. On this day, we were looking forward to experiencing the beautiful city of Bangkok all illuminated at night. After getting enough rest, we got ready and went to enjoy our special dinner cruise and boarded the Chao Phraya Princess Cruise. It was one of the best moments for us as a couple to witness such a distinct culture and setting altogether. The cruise was indeed a fantastic experience filled with music, dance, live entertainment, amazing food of course, and the views of Bangkok city from the riverside were simply breathtaking.
2. Bangkok Sightseeing & Street Shopping
Widely known as the city of towering buildings, Bangkok was captivating to the core. From the sky-scraping skyscrapers to the lively and energetic streets, and from the ancient temples to the stunning attractions, we adored every aspect of Bangkok. While all the attractions were pleasant to explore, one particular attraction that we found to be quite invigorating was the Grand Palace. The place was simply too exquisite to describe. We visited the elaborate temples, and then also indulged in a bit of street shopping which was a soothing therapy for both of us.
3. Exploring Pattaya
Next on our travel itinerary was the awe-inspiring Pattaya. It was a truly mesmerizing experience amidst the beaches. The highlight of our time in Pattaya was definitely the traditional Thai massage. Both of us felt relaxed and revitalized after the massage, and we would definitely recommend everyone to give it a try when in Thailand.
4. Nong Nooch Garden, And Elephant Show
Spread across a vast expanse of approximately five hundred acres, we were incredibly astounded while exploring the tropical gardens of Nong Nooch. It is not only an exquisite amusement park, but also boasted remarkable eateries, lively cultural performances, fantastic accommodations, and much more that almost occupied our entire day of exploration. Additionally, we also had the privilege of witnessing a captivating Elephant Show that showcased the immense talent and skills of the trained elephants. It was truly remarkable and a spectacle that should be witnessed by every individual at least once during their time in Thailand.

5. Tour of the Coral Island
Our visit to the pristine Coral Island was also one of the most cherished memories of our entire trip. Not only did we revel in the beauty of the crystal-clear waters, but we were also captivated by the exquisite beaches on the island. Although our time on the beach was limited, we had a marvelous time exploring the wonders of the Coral Island.
Exploring Thailand’s Shopping Scene on a Budget
While we did not venture into any major shopping destinations, we thoroughly enjoyed perusing the street markets. These markets offer a wide range of souvenirs and small items, including traditional Thai wooden handicrafts, home decor pieces, wooden elephant figurines as keepsakes, handcrafted jewelry, antiques, and trendy apparel.
Budget-friendly Accommodations in Thailand
During our trip, we spent two days at the Hotel Grand Alpine in Bangkok and the remaining days at the Hotel Crown Pattaya Beach Hotel.
Hotel Grand Alpine: It was a satisfactory hotel situated in the bustling market area of Bangkok. The noteworthy aspects of the hotel were the presence of many Indian visitors and a variety of Indian cuisine options. The service provided was excellent, and the hotel staff members were friendly and accommodating.
Hotel Crown Pattaya Hotel: It undoubtedly stands as one of the finest hotels we have ever stayed in. From its prime location to the professionalism of the staff, and from the impeccable services to the delectable food and breathtaking views, everything was impeccably arranged. The hotel also boasted a convenient location near Pattaya Beach, and the culinary offerings were equally impressive.

Dos And Don’ts In Thailand For Future Travelers
For all those who are planning to visit Thailand on a budget soon, keep these tips handy.
- Although not everyone develops a taste for International cuisine, one can still try some of the Thai food items. If not, there are many Indian restaurants around where you can enjoy a variety of Indian food.
- If you’re looking to have something light, you can find plenty of snacks and light food items at the 7 Eleven stores.
- Thailand is a gorgeous country and so are the people, but one needs to be aware of the money when taking a budget trip to Thailand and the expenses, as it is quite common in every country to deceive foreigners.
- Make sure you do not forget to negotiate as much as you can while shopping.
- The climate in Thailand is a bit humid, so it’s a good idea to have a pair of shorts, flip-flops, and lightweight t-shirts.
- Also, ensure you exchange your currency before departing for Thailand to get the best exchange rate. Furthermore, never exchange money at the airport and do check the visa on arrival fees in advance.
- While exploring areas in Thailand on a budget, be cautious of the tuk-tuk drivers as they will often try to overcharge you and sometimes drop you off at the wrong location. Instead, use public transportation like the metro or taxis.
