We had concerns about the weather conditions and oxygen levels, especially since we were traveling with our parents and child. However, we were pleasantly surprised by the delightful weather and the guidance we received on acclimatization techniques and necessary precautions. The hotel manager, tour manager, and driver were all incredibly caring and supportive throughout the journey. Although we had booked an additional oxygen cylinder for our parents, we ultimately didn’t need to use it. The average temperature in Leh Ladakh during our visit was approximately 21 degrees.

Our trip was punctuated with numerous stopovers at various attractions. We had the chance to witness the magnificent confluence of the Zanskar and Indus Rivers and capture some truly remarkable photographs. On our return, we also had the privilege of visiting the renowned Ladakh Hall of Fame. We indulged in some shopping and relished the delectable local cuisine. As we arrived at the Nubra Valley, we were left spellbound by the sheer beauty of the place. The entire area was adorned with romantic hues of pink and yellow wild roses, creating an ethereal scene. Turtuk is a village situated in the Baltistan Region and is one of the four villages in India that share this distinction, alongside Tyakshi, Chalunkha, and Thang. During our visit, we had the pleasure of trying a wide variety of locally grown fruits, including succulent apricots, and capturing cherished memories through our photographs. Serving as one of the gateways to the majestic Siachen Glacier, this place offers a captivating glimpse into the lives of the villagers of Ladakh.

Our experience at Pangong was truly unforgettable. The mesmerizing Pangong Lake, known for its ever-changing colors throughout the day, left us feeling like we were transported to a different world entirely. When it came to shopping, we found ourselves delighted by the Hall of Fame in Leh. Our experience was nothing short of wonderful, as we discovered high-quality pashmina shawls, warm woolen caps, and delightful handicrafts for gift-giving purposes. And the local markets offered a treasure trove of unique items that left us completely satisfied. Leh Ladakh boasts numerous shopping destinations where you can find the finest local goods.
Now, let’s talk about the dos and don’ts of your Ladakh travel. In my opinion, it’s important not to overpack your itinerary if you truly want to enjoy the experience. Instead, tailor your plans based on your interests and allow yourself ample time to delve deeper into each activity. Keep in mind that Ladhak involves 3-5 hour journeys almost every other day, so be prepared for that.
Lastly, avoid going on very short trips that span only 3-4 days. For a more fulfilling adventure, opt for a longer journey of 6-10 days.
